Bankstown Sports Supports Local Nurses and Midwives

By Kelly Sheehan | 15 May 2018 |

Bankstown Sports is proud to be supporting Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital with another round of funding for the Nurses and Midwives Scholarships Program.

The club approved $40,000 in the 2017 round of ClubGRANTS, which will cover the cost of 36 scholarships to further the skills and training of staff at the hospital. This is the 12th year Bankstown Sports has contributed this funding to ensure the local community has the best health care services available.

The scholarships were presented at a special awards ceremony on Friday 12 May, on International Nurses & Midwives Day, with the Bankstown Sports board of directors on hand to do the honors.

The grants will allow recipients to attend conferences, seminars and courses around Australia, including the 2018 Falls Prevention Conference in Hobart, the 2018 Renal Society of Australasia conference in Adelaide, the Australasian Diabetes Congress 2018, and the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Congratulations to all of our scholarship recipients!
