Have you ever stopped to think about how great the western Sydney area is? The food, the sport, the cultural diversity and the strong community feel makes it one of the most unique areas to live in.
The Go West campaign was developed 2 years ago to start showcasing everything that is good in the region, pushing for a government commitment to grow and develop it even more.
Its powerful community initiatives have had some big wins with the new airport at Badgerys Creek, the relocation of the Powerhouse Museum to Parramatta, and a government commitment to roads and infrastructure in the region.
The 2016 Go West Campaign has even bigger plans for this year and Bankstown Sports is proud to be the exclusive local sponsor.
The Club is working closely with the Daily Telegraph to support and promote local businesses and initiatives, pushing to get Western Sydney the attention and recognition it deserves.
Some of the initiatives we’re working on this year include a commitment to fast track the West Connex project, creating more commuter parking at train stations, ensuring every single classroom has air-conditioning by next summer, more drug education programs in schools and an increase in nursing numbers at our hospitals.
All of these projects will greatly benefit our members and their families and we’re excited to be a part of the Go West Campaign for 2016.
